Using voice input and microphone features

Use your voice to input text directly into Storytell by speaking through your microphone.

How to use the speech-to-text feature

  1. Click the Microphone Icon

    • In the prompt input bar, click the microphone icon on the right-hand side. This activates the Speech-to-Text feature.

  2. Allow microphone access

    • Your browser will prompt you to grant Storytell permission to access your microphone. Ensure you allow this access to proceed.

  3. Start Speaking

    • Once the mic icon begins flashing red, you’re ready to speak. Anything you say will be converted to text and displayed in the input bar.

Tips and best practices

  • Use a quiet environment for better transcription accuracy

  • Pause briefly between thoughts to improve recognition

  • If the mic isn’t responding, check browser permissions in your settings
