How to migrate data from the previous version of Storytell

Step 1: Download your existing assets

  1. Go to app.storytell.ai

  2. Click on Dashboard

  3. Select a Collection where the Asset you want to migrate belongs to

  4. Scroll down to the Assets section of the Collection page

  5. Click on either the View or Download button of the Asset

  6. This will open a new browser Tab containing your Asset. Save it to your computer

⚠️ When the file has downloaded, it will have the file name of asset_[string], for example, “

asset_cvo3t629io6g008kvjr0”. See below on how to get the original file name

  1. In your Collection, you can triple click on your Asset Source to highlight it

  2. Press ctrl + c (Windows) or cmd + c (Mac) to copy the full file name

  3. Rename the downloaded file on your device.

Step 2: Upload your files to the current version of Storytell.ai

  1. Go to Storytell.ai

    1. If you haven’t already, Sign up for a Storytell account

  2. Upload your files by:

    1. Clicking on Upload Files in the home page

    2. Drag & Drop your files anywhere onto the screen

  3. You can view your uploaded files in your Project Knowledge

  4. This is how your Assets will look like:
