Overview

Scout analyzes public data and trusted sources to find email addresses and surface relevant insights. It helps you:

  • Locate accurate email addresses for contacts

  • Identify top executives or key decision-makers at a company

  • Understand the person’s likely current priorities

  • Save time by keeping research and outreach in your Storytell workspace

Scout is available from your chat interface. You explicitly tell Storytell who to search for, and it automatically queries multiple sources to return results.

🚀 Pro-Tip: Try Scout instantly with this prompt: Find the email address for someone and learn their priorities

Quick How-To

Getting started with Scout takes just a few steps:

  1. Enable the Find Email Address tool:

    • Open the chat menu (three dots in the prompt bar)

    • Click on Available Tools

    • Make sure Find Email Address is toggled on

  2. Create your prompt:

    • In the chat bar, type your prompt asking Storytell to find the email address

    • Include the person’s full name or profile URL

  3. Submit the prompt:

    • Press Enter to send the prompt

    • This signals Storytell to use Scout to search for the person’s email and gather context on their likely current priorities

  4. View results:

    • Scout returns the email address along with insights about the person’s top priorities

    • You can reference these results in projects, add them to Collections, or use them in chat conversations

🚀 Pro tip: Use @mentions to pull Scout results directly into chats or prompts for seamless workflow integration.

How Scout works

When you ask Storytell to find an email address:

  1. It takes the name or profile URL you provide

  2. It runs smart queries across trusted email-finding sources

  3. It gathers context from public data to highlight what the person’s top priorities likely are

  4. Results are presented clearly in your Storytell workspace

Scout can:

  • Search using LinkedIn profile URLs

  • Identify executives or other key contacts at a company

  • Combine multiple queries to improve accuracy

  • Deliver insights alongside the email address for richer context

Using Scout results

Once Scout returns results, you can:

  • Reference emails in your projects and conversations

  • Add contacts to Collections for easy organization

  • Include context about the person’s priorities when preparing outreach or research

When to use Scout

Scout suggestions appear when:

  • You explicitly ask Storytell to find an email address

  • You provide a name, profile URL, or company context

  • Scout is enabled (default)

Scout won’t automatically search contacts—you need to tell Storytell what to find.
