Using @mentions
@mentions let you focus your prompt on specific views, labels, concepts or assets you want to work with. Instead of searching across everything you’ve uploaded, you can guide Storytell to respond only based on what you reference—leading to faster, more relevant answers.

Overview
By default, Storytell uses All Knowledge as the scope for your chat. That means your prompt automatically considers everything you’ve uploaded and the concepts created from those assets.

When you use an @mention, you’re narrowing that scope. Mentioning an asset, label, concept, or view replaces “All Knowledge” with only the items you’ve specified — allowing for more targeted, context-specific responses.
🚀 Pro-tip: Just type the @ key in the prompt bar to at-mention Collections, Labels, Concepts or Assets to put them into the scope of your chat. Give it a try!

How to mention Assets and Concepts in your prompt
@mentions let you directly point Storytell to the exact sources you want it to use when responding.
Before you start
To use @mentions, make sure you’ve already uploaded at least one Asset or created a Data Collection, Concept or Label.
If you type “@” and nothing appears, you’ll see a “No results found” message.
Steps:
Type “@” inside your prompt
As soon as you type@, a dropdown will appear showing your available Assets, Labels, and Concepts.Keep typing to narrow down the list
If you know the name of the Asset, Labels, or Concept, continue typing after@to quickly find and select it.Click to add the item to your prompt
You can mention one or more items. Each one you select will appear as a chip in your prompt.Write the rest of your prompt and hit send
Storytell will limit its response to only the Assets, Labels, or Concepts you've mentioned.
Verification
After using @mentions, you should see:
Mentioned Assets, Labels, and Concepts appear as chips in your prompt
Storytell's answer reflects only the items you've referenced
A more focused, efficient response (especially helpful when you’ve uploaded a lot)
Tips & Best Practices
Use @mentions to stay precise: The more targeted your prompt, the better your results.
Mention multiple items when comparing: Great for side-by-side analysis.
Watch for name clarity: Give your assets and concepts clear titles so they’re easy to find in the dropdown.
