Overview

Moving assets between Projects allows teams to reorganize content, separate personal work from shared initiatives, or group related assets under a single Project. The move process transfers both the assets and their associated structure, so no context is lost.

Permissions are automatically updated to match the destination Project’s sharing settings, ensuring that access and visibility stay consistent with the new environment.

Steps to Move Assets

1. Open the Source Project

  • Go to the Project that currently contains the assets you want to move.

2. Select Assets

  • In any view (such as a Collection or asset list), select one or more assets to move.

3. Move the Assets

  • Click Move [#] Assets at the top of the view. A prompt appears showing the number of selected assets.

4. Choose a Destination Project

  • Select the project where the assets should be moved.

  • Confirm by clicking Move [#] Assets.

  • Note: Storytell transfers all selected assets, including Labels, metadata, and Collections, to the chosen Project.

5. Verify the Move

  • After the move completes, a confirmation message appears (e.g., “184 assets have been moved”).
Switch to the destination Project to confirm:

    • Assets appear under the new Project

    • Labels and Collections are preserved

    • The assets are available for collaborators in the destination Project
