How Storytell’s Image Generation Works
Storytell's image generation system leverages advanced AI image generation models that interpret your text descriptions and convert them into visual content. You can enhance your prompts by incorporating files from your knowledge base or referencing specific Assets and Concepts using @mentions.

Here's a spectrum of what's possible with Storytell's Image Generation:
Visual Concepts: Generate images that visually represent abstract concepts or ideas from your data, making complex information more accessible.
Custom Illustrations: Create unique illustrations for reports, presentations, or digital content in various styles.
Styled Imagery: Influence the aesthetic with styles like
vividfor dramatic, hyper-realistic effects, ornaturalfor a more organic feel.
⚠️ Image generation is a beta feature and is more prone to errors like misspellings in charts and graphs. Make sure to double check the underlying data before using.

To get the most out of Storytell's Image Generation, consider these tips:
Be descriptive: Your prompt is key. Provide clear, detailed descriptions of the subject, setting, colors, and overall mood. For example, instead of "a dog," try "a golden retriever running through a sunny field with a blue sky, photorealistic style."
Specify image generation models: Storytell automatically routes your request to the most suitable image model, but you can also explicitly request a specific model in your prompt by adding the model name into your prompt. Choose from the following:
Dall E

Banana

Imagen

Review
RevisedPrompt: Sometimes, the AI may subtly rephrase your prompt to ensure safety or improve the image quality. If aRevisedPromptis returned, it indicates the exact text the AI used for generation.Understand safety filters: Storytell employs safety filters to prevent the creation of inappropriate content. If an image is blocked, try rephrasing your prompt to comply with content guidelines.
Iterate and refine: Image generation is often an iterative process. If your first attempt isn't perfect, adjust your prompt or parameters and try again. Small changes can lead to significantly different results.
Current limitations
No partial editing: Storytell treats each image generation as a separate, standalone event. You cannot ask to edit specific parts of an already generated image—each request creates an entirely new image based on your complete prompt.
Standard sizing only: Custom dimensions, aspect ratios, and orientation specifications are not yet supported. All generated images use default sizing parameters.
Beta feature considerations: As a beta feature, image generation may produce errors in text-heavy visuals like charts and graphs. Always verify underlying data accuracy and double-check any text elements before using generated images in final presentations or publications.
Getting better results
Include style keywords like "photorealistic," "illustration," "diagram," "watercolor," or "minimalist"
Specify lighting conditions ("golden hour," "soft lighting," "dramatic shadows")
Mention composition preferences ("close-up," "wide angle," "bird's eye view")
Reference artistic styles or movements when relevant ("impressionist style," "art deco influence")
Use descriptive adjectives for mood and atmosphere ("serene," "energetic," "professional," "whimsical")
